Does the Seiko at 40mm here wears smaller? They look similar even with BB at 36mm

Nice video & watch ! I picked up the same model (but in SS ) this year during a trip to Japan, where I visited their studio in Kyoto . I can say that, despite the very reasonable prices they charge, the Kuoe experience for guests is very nice, relaxed, and welcoming; equivalent to that of a “luxury” brand. You can even peek through a huge glass window into their workshop, with some of their team members actively working on watches. interestingly enough, for in-person customers they will let you pick two straps included with your purchase. For mine, I picked one NATO style, and one suede.

Fits great on you man! I wish casio offered more smaller models with colors that would appeal to both genders (so things other than pink, cyan and so on)

oh nice - i didn't know g shock came with smaller g shocks that aren't obviously female coded (ie. bright colors, pink gold, etc)

the strap is not very good on both watches, i recommend changing it to a more comfortable one like silicone or leather

I have the newer version with date magnifier and yellow detailing to the handset with the bezel markers in blue - it’s a solid, quality built do it all watch Plastic retainer? If it’s good enough for G-Shock then it makes sense

If I’m not mistaken the Cartier is also very small right ? I love this watch but I wish they had size in between the men’s essential and this female version. Both are still really nice & id say if you like it then be happy and enjoy ! I know bulova has a nice tank as well that inside a bit better imo cheers !

I prefer the small crown as opposed to it digging in my hand during the day. I just bought the citizen promaster and it has the crown at the 8 o'clock position awesome piece

Congrats! As a fellow small-wristed guy, this was one watch that caught my eye. This exact “baby blue” dial was the one I was looking at, but I wasn’t convinced to pull the trigger, mainly because it is a premium price and a premium brand. Pleasant surprise to see you have got one and made a video too! I had already gotten a bright orange skin diver before discovering these colorful Oris skin divers, and it was a far more affordable piece. It’s a Dan Henry 1975. That would be a good alternative for those looking for some similar vibes on a budget.

What strap size do I need to buy for this watch in case I decide to buy a nato strap?

Stupid question, but for those with more watch experience: thinking about buying this for my now 6 year old daughter as a gift for when she’s old enough/milestone later in life. Is it a stupid idea to think I’m securing one now to beat inflation & the potential the watch isn’t being made 10-15 years from now? Any harm in a new watch just sitting dormant for that long?

I have 7 casio watches, ranging from vintage to modern and this is by far the most accurate one i have. It doesn't drift nearly as much as my other casios.

I just got a call from my AD that my explorer is ready for collection. However, I do not feel excited or happy about it. Just like you, I was searching everywhere for this watch in Malaysia back in 2021, when it was first released. Putting my names in AD, playing the games with the salesperson (sent them greeting text on every occasions, Christmas, New-Year, CNY and you name it 😂) The emotion was very strong. It's kinda like chasing a girl that you really like but keeps getting rejected over and over. Up until a certain point, I say fuck-it. This is not healthy anymore. Life is more than just a watch. Then, I bought myself another closest thing to a 36 Explorer which is a Longines Spirit 37. I wore the hell out of it for 3 years. The scratches, ding and nack tells how much it was worn and loved. I went to Bali and backpacking across Thailand with it. And I've not missed the explorer 36 until since. I've stopped looking at watch videos and Instagram about the explorer 36. Up until yesterday that I received a text from my AD, my reaction was like "seriously dude, really.. ?? " after 3 years and I've moved on with my life I've sever all my emotions, the wanting and gave a straight and tall midde finger to Rolex and their AD's games. Allow me to say it here, "Fuck you, Rolex!" 😂 However, I will still go and collect my watch tomorrow and hopefully I can rekindle the long lost feeling about it.

I may be a bit late to the party for this video, but the Black Bay 36 going for $4,000 RETAIL here in 2024 is absurd to me. $2,000-$2,500 is about the right price point for this piece, but Tudor honestly seems to think that they’re Rolex these days. You can get a number of alternatives with the same 2824 movement for much cheaper. With Tudor’s unjustifiable prices these days, I’m perfectly happy sticking with my Seiko 5. I have the SBSA043 (the JDM version of the SRPE53) and it’s one hell of a watch for the money. The 4R36 is every bit as robust a movement as the 2824 but it’s almost 20x cheaper than the Black Bay. Seiko is definitely the clear winner here as far as value for money goes.
